11 Dec Going Beyond J2EE with JBoss
Marc Fleury
Wednesday, December 11, 2002 7:15-8:45 p.m.
University of Denver Sturm Hall Room 451 (map)
Cost: Free

Description:
JBoss is an open source, standards-compliant, J2EE application server implemented in Java, and distributed for free. JavaWorld editors named it the "Best Java Application Server" in their 2002 Editors' Choice Awards.

Should you go with JBoss? Can you save money and speed your development with JBoss? Marc Fleury, founder and president of the JBoss Group, will address these and related questions.

Speaker:
Marc Fleury is the president and founder of the Atlanta-based JBoss Group LLC, which provides much of the core software team behind the JBoss application server. The JBoss Group operates by providing support, consulting, training and documentation for the server.

Born in Paris in 1968, Marc started in sales at Sun Microsystems France and transitioned to engineering. After working in SAP development while at Sun, he got bored and started JBoss. He is dedicated to making JBoss Group the dominant web-app server company.

Marc is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, France's top engineering school, and an ex-Lieutenant in the paratroopers. He has a masters in Theoretical Physics from the ENS ULM and a Ph.D. in Physics for work he did as a visiting scientist at MIT (X-Ray Lasers).
